From A-Level Aspirations to Aerospace Engineering Success
I am delighted to share that I’ve recently embarked on a new role as a Senior Engineering Digital & Processes Engineer with Cathay Pacific Airways, based in Hong Kong. In this role, I’m focused on leading digital transformation projects within the Engineering Department, aimed at optimizing efficiency and driving cost-effectiveness.
Looking back, this milestone feels especially meaningful considering where my journey began.
I come from a humble middle-class family, and after SPM, I knew I wanted to pursue A-Levels in hopes of continuing my education overseas in Aerospace Engineering. It was an ambitious dream — and not without its challenges. From 2011 to 2013, I studied at Kolej Yayasan UEM, and during that time, I was fortunate to receive financial support from Yayasan Munarah.
Their assistance enabled me to complete my A-Levels and secure a conditional offer from the University of Sheffield. But when the time came to accept my place at the university, I faced yet another hurdle: I was unable to secure a scholarship, and the cost of living and studying in the UK was extremely high.
Once again, Yayasan Munarah stepped in — offering me the financial aid I needed to begin my university journey. With their help, I earned my Master’s in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Sheffield (2013–2017).
Today, I stand proud in my role at Cathay Pacific, knowing I would not be where I am without the unwavering support of YAM Tunku Ali, YAM Tunku Zain, and the board members of Yayasan Munarah. Their belief in me changed the course of my life, and I am forever grateful.
I aspire to one day pay it forward — to extend the same kindness and support to others in need, just as Yayasan Munarah did for me.

Overcoming Financial Hardship to Become a Medical Officer
I am currently working as a medical officer (Pegawai Perubatan UD43) in the Paediatric division at Hospital Banting.
I studied at Cyberjaya University of Medical Science (CUCMS), where my dream was to become a successful doctor. My mother, a single parent, worked as a rubber tapper earning RM300.00 per month. She faced great difficulty raising me and my younger sister. Bread of Life Home in Bahau supported my family during this challenging time.
Simultaneously, I was offered the opportunity to further my studies. Aware of my family's financial circumstances and the fees required each semester, including personal expenses, I applied for several scholarships but was unfortunately turned down. I later learned that Yayasan Munarah was offering education sponsorships forunder privileged students.
With high hopes, my mother, my guardian from Bread of Life Home, and I visited Yayasan Munarah. We were deeply touched by the kind words and support from Yayasan Munarah's coordinator. I recall their reassuring words: “Don’t worry about your financial expenses; we will help you. Focus on yourstudies, graduate, and take care of your mother.” Thanks to their support, I completed my degree with good results, receiving both financial assistance and motivation from Yayasan Munarah’scoordinator.
After graduation, Yayasan Munarah continued to keep in touch with me through phone calls and messages, checking on my progress from time to time. Without Yayasan Munarah’s financial aid, my studies and dream of becoming a successful doctor might have remained just that—a dream. This experience has been a dream come true, and I am truly grateful to be part of the Yayasan Munarah family. In the future, I plan to move to Negeri Sembilan and contribute to Yayasan Munarah’s charity work and programs, giving back to the community that supported me.
